Mukhammadsodik Sodikov third junior world champ for Uzbekistan ever
The Kasri tennis Arena in Tajikistan saw once a again some big surprises at these junior world championships at the fourth and last day of the individual tournament. In the final U100kg Sodikov (UZB) and Miki (JPN) got down to work. The first shido went to the Uzbek for stepping out and he stayed under pressure from that point on.

Golden Hilal Ozturk shows her options for the future
It took her fifteen months to win an important tournament again after her European u23 title, but the sweet was for Hilal Ozturk of Türkiye this first event of the year. In the heavyweight final of the Grand Prix in Odivelas on Sunday, Hilal Ozturk and Miki Mukunoki faced off, having had only one previous meeting, with a Turkish victory in that occasion. Lots of movement kicked things off but without sincere gripping there was a penalty each in the first 25 seconds. In the next exchange Ozturk took the dominant grip and the Japanese judoka couldn’t withstand it and stepped out to earn a second penalty.

Japanese heavyweight final between Mao Arai and Miki Mukunoki
The +78 kg category is the preserve of a few countries which in recent years have shared the laurels: Japan, France, Brazil are among these strong nations. Here in Odivelas on the last day, it was Japan which nevertheless showed its power and the full extent of its pool of judoka with international stature.

Hifumi Abe defeats Joshiro Maruyama at national championships
The all Japan Judo Championships in Fukuoka have showed some incredible matches, worth while a World Championships final. A gorgeous tournament where five Olympic Champions of Tokyo2020 returned to the battle. The U66kg class final was obviously the most bespoke contest between Hifumi Abe (Park 24) who defeated Joshiro Maruyama (MIKI HOUSE).
