Jets face difficult task in keeping Copp and Pionk
Their agents may be borrowing a phrase from Jerry Maguire and shouting "Show me the money" at Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff given the impressive seasons they just had.But the cold, hard reality is that Andrew Copp and Neal Pionk are likely going to have to take ones for the team and accept less than their perceived value this summer if the current, cash-strapped group is to remain intact.

"If you're missing Mark, I think you're missing arguably our best player. You saw the effect of that in the bubble," forward Andrew Copp said, noting how Scheifele was injured in last year's qualifying round series with Calgary, which the Flames won. "I think we're better equipped to handle such a (loss).

Jets, Canadiens drop puck on second-round series
"We came out in Game 1 riding a high from winning that (previous) series. I thought we kind of dominated Game 1 and how quickly the series kind of turned in their favor," recalled forward Andrew Copp. "I think that experience, whatever happens in Game 1, we can revert back to that series in the opposite way.

Jets enjoying a few days off to rest and reset before Round 2
To suggest there was a collective sense of relief for the Winnipeg Jets following Monday's series-clinching 4-3 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers would be putting it lightly.On Wednesday, the same day the now-no-longer-necessary Game 5 was to be played at Rogers Place, just the thought of having to travel to Edmonton after battling into a third overtime period days before was enough for forward Andrew Copp to thank the hockey Gods.
