Mothers on the mat in Portugal
There are many incredible women in judo who are setting an example for all judokas. Some of the mothers are registered for to compete at the Grand Prix in Portugal. Nekoda Davis (GBR), Hannah Martin (USA) and Moira De Villiers (NZL). They are all remarkable role models for women in judo and have achieved great success in the sport. In addition to Davis, Martin and De Villiers, there are many recent mothers in judo, such as Kim Polling (NED) and Clarisse Agbegnenou (FRA).

Clarisse Agbegnenou among the greats of the world
Famous French Olympic Champion Clarisse Agbegnenou will be presented famous Grevin Museum in France, in the area dedicated to athletes. Agbegnenou will not be far from Teddy Riner, Tony Parker, Camille Lacourt, Kilian M'Bappé, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pelé, Renaud Lavillénie, Martin Fourcade, ... Ukraine prepares for European Championships in Austria
The Ukrainian national judo team is invited by the Austrian Judo Association to visit the BSFZ Südstadt and spend two weeks preparing for the European Championships in Sofia at the end of April. The delegation consists of 15 people, including 9 athletes - above all Artem Lesiuk (-60), most recently winner of the Grand Slam tournament in Tel Aviv (ISR), and Yakiv Khammo (+100), fifth at the Olympics and World Championships third party “Last week we were asked if we could help. We immediately said yes, providing them with accommodation, a training hall and food - that's a matter of course these days," emphasizes ÖJV President Martin Poiger.

Spanish Ai Tsunoda continues with a world title at senior level
She was Cadet world champion in Kazakhstan in 2019 and bronze medallist at the last European Junior Championships in Luxembourg, Ai Tsunoda Roustant (ESP) is already an accomplished junior. At the Junior World in Olbia on Friday the Spanish super talent does it again and claimed the world title at senior level. She also already won a bronze medal in a Grand Prix on the World Judo Tour. It was 27 years ago since Spain had a women's junior world champion in Ursula Martin.

10 years after the death of Claudia Heill
March 31, is the 10th anniversary of Claudia Heill's passing. The Austrian died at the age of 29. “Claudia was one of the most successful domestic judoka in history with Olympic silver from Athens and no less than five European Championship medals. She has shaped our sport for many years, and after her career ended she also worked as a junior coach, ”emphasizes Austrian Judo President Martin Poiger.
