Andreja Leski enjoyed the five contests and continues the legacy of Slovenia
Andreja Leski of Slovenia became the Olympic champion, continuing the incredible legacy of Slovenian women in judo. She is the third Slovenian woman to win the title in the last four Olympic cycles, following Urska Zolnir in 2012 and Tina Trstenjak in 2016. In the final, Leski faced Prisca Awiti-Alcaraz of Mexico. The Mexican started strong, scoring a waza-ari with her lightning-fast tomoe-nage, but Leski leveled up, eventually throwing Awiti-Alcaraz for waza-ari and securing the win with a second score.

La judoka Clarisse Agbégnénou ne pourra pas défendre son titre olympique aux JO 2024 de Paris. La Française s’est inclinée en demi-finale contre la Slovène Andreja Leski. Elle pourra essayer de se consoler avec une médaille de bronze.

Heydarov regains the European title in Montpellier
At the second day of the European Championship all eyes were focused on world and Olympic champion, Clarisse Agbegnenou (FRA) in the U63kg. Unfortunately for her, she was eliminated early and instead it was the world silver medallist, Andreja Leski (SLO), and last year's bronze medallist, Gili Sharir (ISR), who faced in the final. After a close fought contest, Leski awaited the final minute to score waza-ari with a sharp ko-soto-gari. Agbegnenou finished at the seventh place after she was defeated in the repechage.

Clarisse Agbegnenou: How she does it for the sixth time
Clarisse Agbegnenou is now a 6-time world champion and Olympic champion. Her record in international competition is surpassed by only a handful of people. In the final she overcame Andreja Leski of Slovenia who was her opponent as well in the 2021 World Championships final in Budapest. This time in Doha, Agbegnenou made a splendid comeback at the worlds after becoming a mother last year. No one saw a negative effect of that. The unseeded Agbegnenou was growing in confidence with each fight.

Victorieuse par ippon contre la Slovène Andreja Leski, Clarice Agbégnénou, 30 ans, a décroché son sixième titre de championne du monde à Doha (Qatar), ce mercredi 10 mai. La native de Rennes semble avoir retrouvé la pleine possession de ses moyens.
