Luise Malzahn announced farewell to top judo
The athlete with the second most medals in the IJF World Tour ever has announced to retire. Luise Malzahn said it’s enough after more than 1000 contest in the international scene in all events. She celebrated her farewell in her hometown Halle among friends and family who supported her for a period of 23 years.

Luise Malzahn doesn't want to give up top judo
On the third and last day of the Baku Grand Slam they were few, but all brave. 71 judoka divided into five categories are not so many but in return they offered us effort and talent. They were generous and bet everything on ippon.

Slovenian Klara Apotekar captures first Grand Slam title
World number nine Klara Apotekar of Slovenia won her maiden Grand Slam gold medal and maintained her 100% record against world number 12 Luise Malzahn (GER) by winning the U78kg final. Apotekar was awarded the win after 50 seconds of golden score when the 21-time Grand Prix medallist from Germany was given a direct direct hansoku-make for endangering the right arm of her opponent.
