Judokas Frank de Wit, Michael Korrel and Noël van 't End have been removed from the world rankings by the International Judo Federation (IJF) over whereabouts violations. All three cases involved three whereabouts errors (a filling failure and/or a missed test) within a 12-month period. Regulatory violations are then involved.

Michael Korrel again a class on his own in Abu Dhabi
The favorites had contrasting destinies throughout the day. Among the smiling destinies, that of Michael Korrel (NED), number one seed, who managed to avoid all the traps to reach another final on the World Judo Tour, his ninth in fact. At the very end of the competition, it was the Netherlands who finished in first place, ahead of France and Germany, with the Emirates following closely behind, while the four countries each won two titles.

Zelym Kotsoiev adds another Grand Slam gold medal
Azeri top fighter Zelym Kotsoiev captured the gold medal at the Grand Slam in Tel Aviv. The 2019 junior world champion has already climbed on 8 grand slam podia, including two first places, and he was a bronze medallist at the last world championships and the Jerusalem World Judo Masters. The final was against Dutch top man Michael Korrel.

Michael Korrel marries Paris
Number 1 seed U100kg, Dutchman Michael Korrel forged a path through all obstacles in Paris, including a French quarter-final challenge. He continued past Toma Nikiforov in the semi-final and looked set to win a confident gold. Zelym Kostoev (USE) was to be his adversary after he disposed of Kurbjeweit, Liparteliani and Veg (HUN) before throwing Kotsoiev (AZE) and then Elnahas.

Michael Korrel delivers gold for Dutch team
Michael Korrel’s done it again. He took the gold medal in the IJF World Tour. His first victory this year, last year he won in Tel Aviv. After two silver medals at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2015 and 2016, this time he grabbed the gold. In the final U100kg his opponent was Ilia Sulamanidze.

Korrel adds another feather to his cap with European win
Michael Korrel of the Netherlands is a World bronze medalist and a six-time IJF World Tour gold medallist. Now, he is a European Champion as well having won the gold medal in Sofia recently.
