Committed Olympian Tessie Savelkouls retires
Heavyweight Tessie Savelkouls will retire as top judoka with immediate effect. The Dutch Olympian competed twice at the Olympic Games and won gold at the IJF World Masters, among other precious medals. With her successful rehabilitation towards the Olympic Games in Tokyo, she also inspired sports enthusiasts in the Netherlands. Savelkouls will now focus on completing her study as a teacher.

French youngster Romane Dicko signs significant win
Building on her performance at the 2019 World Masters, during which she won gold, Dutch Tessie Savelkouls entered the final against the 2018 European Champion, long injured, but back at the highest level, Romane Dicko (FRA). The French controlled the final and scored ippon with an o-uchi-gari to take a significative win in Tel Aviv.
