Ce mardi 30 juillet, la judokate française Clarisse Agbégnénou s’est qualifiée pour les quarts de finale des -63 kg aux Jeux olympiques 2024, en éliminant la Brésilienne Ketleyn Quadros. Elle affrontera la Kosovare Laura Fazliu en quarts de finale.

Ketleyn Quadros (35) still going strong and sets new age records
In 2008, a young Brazilian judoka, Ketleyn Quadros, managed to win Olympic bronze in Beijing. Fifteen years later, the same Ketleyn Quadros is present in the final of the Antalya Grand Slam and is still in the world top ten. Knowing that she had already reached the top level long before reaching the podium in Beijing, she has been gravitating in the high atmosphere of world judo for nearly twenty years. Well, before the final, and whatever the result, we can only admire such a career.

Inbal Shemesh surprises with gold in Tbilisi
Among the top twelve in the world ranking, Ketleyn Quadros was the only one who travelled to Tbilisi. The Brazilian is number six in the world started as a favourite. Agata Ozdoba-Blach highlights career with Grand Slam gold
At the second day of the Grand Slam in Kazan two more experienced judoka made it to the final. It is not insulting to say that Ketleyn Quadros (BRA) is a veteran on the World Judo Tour, since the Brazilian was already an Olympic bronze medallist in 2008. Thirteen years after that performance, she remains competitive and efficient, which must be underlined.
