Flagbearers in judo: Krisztian Toth (HUN)
Krisztián Tóth of Hungary, who won a bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 and marked Hungary's 500th Olympic medal, will be carrying the flag for his country at the Paris Olympic Games. The Hungarian judo team will appear with eight judoka in Paris, consisting of three women and five men. Tóth's ambition is to become the first Hungarian to win two senior Olympic judo medals.

Nemanja Majdov back with desired grand slam gold
Two veterans of the circuit acted as favourites at the bottom of the draw, Toth and Majdov. Krisztian Toth (HUN) is one of the most present judoka on the circuit. In 2023, he participated in ten World Judo Tour competitions, Abu Dhabi included. He likes it and that is visible, since he has already won six medals this season. It was Majdov though who captured the gold medal. Not having been present in a final for a long time Majdov was expected to be tactical as well as Mosakhlishvili, but with his long experience at the highest level, Majdov had obviously a little advantage. The final unfolded as planned.

Hungary IJF Masters ready for important judo qualfier
The 2023 World Judo Masters in Budapest is one of the most important qualifiers for the judoka. The Papp Laszlo Arena will be filled with the best athletes in the world. On Thursday the draw was conducted in the presence of EJU and Hungarian Judo Association President Dr Laszlo Toth, Hungarian Judo Association Vice President and Olympic champion Antal Kovacs and Hungarian National Coaches Miklos Ungvari and Akos Braun among other IJF guests.

Sportsmenship and respect underlines U90kg final in Linz
At the Grand Prix in Linz the final U90kg was between two experienced judoka. Krisztian Toth (HUN), Olympic bronze medallist and world silver medallist, and on the other was Axel Clerget (FRA), double world bronze medallist and Olympic champion from the mixed teams in Tokyo in 2021.

2024 European Judo Championships awarded to Zagreb
The flagship event of the European Judo Union in 2024 will be staged in Zagreb. EJU President László Toth and Vice-President Hrvoje Lindi, Secretary General of the Croatian Judo Federation, signed the organising contract for the European Judo Championships Seniors 2024 in Zagreb. The event will be staged at the Zagreb Arena. The individual competitions will be held from 25 to 27 April 2024, with the mixed team event taking place on 28 April.

World Champion Davlat Bobonov efficiently claims gold
Davlat Bobonov is the reigning world champion in the category and everyone came to see their hero entering the stadium with his beautiful, flamboyant, red back number. Nothing was easy for Bobonov though and he couldn’t afford to release his guard for a single second. His qualification for the final was therefore all the more beautiful. In the semi-final, where he only spent 34 seconds on the tatami against Krisztian Toth (HUN).
